Annual Alumni Missive
Another Holiday season is upon us and here we are with yet another Bethpage wrestling season underway.
Healthy Holidays to everyone in the Bethpage wrestling family including alumni, coaches, parents and friends.
Information for Alumni Day sign-up and our annual membership fundraising drive follows below. We hope to see you all on Saturday January 14, 2012 once again for a full day of wrestling and alumni greetings as well as a night of food and spirits.
ALUMNI DAY/NIGHT – HONORING OUR NY STATE PLACEWINNERS-JANUARY 14, 2012
Alumni Day:
This year we’d like to see a strong turnout for the day’s festivities as well as the dinner gathering at Whoville on Broadway that evening. The Golden Eagles wrestling quad meet should go from about 9AM to 5PM. At about 2PM we will honor those who reached the pinnacle of HS wrestling success in NY State by achieving All-NY State honors.
The Bethpage Golden Eagles program has had 11 such wrestlers. One is a state champ, and 3 others are multiple time NY State place-winners. The honorees are listed below with their accomplishments and the year they achieved their All-State status. Let’s work together as a group to get all 11 of these honorees to our annual event as well as a good showing of teammates to support them and the Bethpage Wrestling Alumni club efforts.

Alumni Night:
We will plan to meet at Whoville for a 7PM start. Open bar (beer and wine) from 7-10 and food as usual will be served.
After 10PM is a cash bar.
THIS YEAR’S TEAM
Last year we crowned a county champ and state place-winner in Jermaine John who is now starting in the Hofstra University lineup as a true freshman at 174 pounds. We also had 8th grader Jake Einbeinder place 3rd in Nassau County at 103 pounds. Jake’s only loss in the county tournament came in OT to a 2X NY State place-winner from Long Beach.
The 2011-2012 team will be led by Senior Alex Houston along with underclassmen Jake Einbinder and Anthony Carello. Einbinder and Carello are both double champions at the Hank Paris and Bethpage Dad’s Club tourneys already this season. Other returning County tournament qualifiers include Brendon Peliteri and Charlie Bachmeier. Rounding out the lineup are varsity returners Sam Romano and Andrew Jedd along with this year’s starters Michael Lewis, Cory Settino, Nick Kelly, James Fernandez, Chris Mastanduno and Dylan Sealock.
